MobilKom, a.s. first obtained a licence in 2001 for operation of a mobile network in the 410-430 MHz frequency band, with a view to deploying the Tetra technology. Mobilkom also holds a licence for the CDMA technology which was acquired in 2005. In August 2005, MobilKom, a.s. applied for an individual permission to broadcast signal in the 410-430 MHz frequency band.

The CTO granted the application in March 2006 after it had approved an amendment to the Radio Spectrum Utilisation Plan, which opened the given frequency band to the broadband technology. Based on the permission, the company can offer its voice and data services.
